There are numerous hotels and restaurants on the Island that offer fabulous reception services. Groups of 100 or more guests are limited to a few larger facilities but there are numerous choices for smaller receptions. If you plan to elope to the Mackinac to be married, almost all the bed & breakfasts, inns, and hotels can offer you last minute helpful service and advice.
The Island House Hotel is one of the most charming Victorian hotels on Mackinac. Treat your guests to a cocktail reception on the hotel’s verandah overlooking the harbor and marina. Wedding ceremonies are performed in the beautiful new wedding gazebo or on the front verandah which provides an outdoor ambiance yet is safe from inclement weather. Lunch or dinner for up to 180 guests is offered in the elegant 1852 Grille Room. For receptions with up to 50 guests, choose the more intimate Webster Room. Both Island House dining rooms are also ideal for rehearsal dinners.
The Harbour View Inn is has become one of the Island’s most popular locations for smaller ceremonies and receptions. Exchange vows in the courtyard gazebo, the 2nd floor verandah or the front lawn and the charming private dining room accommodates receptions for up to 60 guests. An experienced on-site wedding consultant can assist you with all your plans. Bridal suites include in-room whirlpool tubs for honeymooners.
For a unique setting for both ceremony and reception become familiar with The Inn at Stonecliffe. Built in 1904, the Stonecliffe Mansion has a rich history of charm and beauty. Imagine a ceremony on the rolling four acre lawn or in the secluded grotto amidst lush fern and pines, then adjourn to lunch or dinner either inside the mansion or outside on the lawn under a white wedding tent. Woods golf course, bike rental, swimming pool, and groomed trails offer guests plenty of things to do while staying at The Inn at Stonecliffe. For intimate weddings and charming receptions, Stonecliffe is an appealing site and a very special place to be married.
The Chippewa and Lilac Tree Hotels offer four choices for receptions, parties and rehearsal dinners. At the Chippewa, the Harbour View Dining Room overlooks the waterfront and accommodates up to 50 -people. The Lakeside Deck and the Outdoor Patio & Grill may be used separately or together for up to 100 guests. The all new Lilac Tree Banquet Center is a private dining hall with a dance floor, large private bar, offering extensive menu selections. Both the Chippewa and the Lilac Tree offer spacious guest suites, ideal for the bridal party dressing room. The downtown locations are convenient to all churches, ferry boats, shopping, and attractions.
One of the Island’s prominent, historic landmarks is the Lake View Hotel. Built in 1858, the 85 room resort includes 12 rooms with private whirlpools, several large turret rooms, and a spacious Presidential Suite. Reception facilities include a newly renovated banquet room that can accommodate up to 165 guests with ample room for dancing. Conveniently located downtown near Island churches and ferry boat docks, Lake View’s fine staff and excellent reputation make it an appealing location for receptions.
Bay View Inn Bed & Breakfast was built in the late 1890s but is now considered one of the Island’s premier bed and breakfasts, with 20 newly renovated guest rooms and several ultimate honeymoon bridal suites.
