How do you begin to plan the wedding of your dreams from far away? More often it is becoming standard practice to secure the services of a wedding consultant or coordinator to insure the success of the event. A coordinator will advise and arrange all the details and is present for the wedding day to see everything through. For larger weddings a coordinator is highly recommended.
Having worked with a multitude of weddings, a coordinator has learned what works best through personal experience. Mackinac Island offers such a diverse selection of seasons, locations, and facilities for ceremonies and receptions that it’s difficult to plan from a distance. Someone who is experienced with the special challenges of Island weddings will help you work through the details and possibly save you time and money by avoiding costly problems or mistakes.
“Having a coordinator with you the day of the wedding to handle details such as guests, carriages, flowers, cake delivery, and the arrival of the bride by buggy are a few of the reasons to hire a coordinator,” says Carole Erbel of For the Love of Mackinac. With the increasing number of weddings on the Island, a coordinator will obtain the necessary vendors well in advance of the event to avoid last minute disappointments from overbooking.
If you would like to speak directly to a wedding coordinator and meet with over 50 other local wedding vendors, be sure to attend the Mission Point Bridal Show. It’s held in early May and allows people in-terested in having a wedding the opportunity to speak to the people who will be involved. Wed-ding coordinators, photographers, cake bakers, florists, videographers and more will be on hand to talk with you about a wedding on the Island. The show admission includes a tour of Mission Point Resort’s wedding facilities and waterfront gazebo. Also included is a chance to sample numerous menu items available for your reception at Mission Point. Special guest room discounts are also offered for this event as well.
